Evaluating Programme Performance
Assessed the design, implementation, and overall performance of the KFMW portfolio against its objectives and targets.
The project evaluated the Keeping Food Markets Working (KFMW) programme, implemented by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.
Designed as an emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the programme aimed to strengthen food systems by supporting food system workers, small and medium enterprises, and fresh food markets. The evaluation assessed programme performance and generated evidence to inform more resilient food systems programming.
Assessing Food System Resilience
Examined the programme's contribution to mitigating COVID-19 impacts while evaluating how short-term emergency responses supported longer-term food system resilience.
Capturing Learning for Future Programming
Identified achievements, challenges, and good practices to inform GAIN's future strategies for building resilient and inclusive food systems.
