Applied an OECD-DAC aligned, theory-based, and contribution-focused mixed-methods approach to assess policy relevance, effectiveness, sustainability, and systemic coherence.
The project delivered the independent Mid-Term Evaluation (MTE) of GAIN's global food systems nutrition portfolio, spanning 45 projects across 11 low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The evaluation assessed the portfolio's strategic performance, contribution to food systems governance, and role in advancing nutrition-sensitive food systems, generating evidence to inform future programming and investment.
Conducting Multi-Country Assessments
Combined portfolio-wide analysis with in-depth case studies and extensive stakeholder engagement across governments, GAIN country offices, and private-sector partners.
Informing Future Strategy
Generated evidence on GAIN's contribution to strengthening partnerships and institutionalising food systems governance, informing subsequent Dutch MFA programming and GAIN's strategic direction.
